A girl worries she'll lose her favorite uncle when he gets married, and finds out she's gaining another one.
Chloe's favorite person is her Uncle Bobby, so when he announces he's marrying his friend Jamie, she's crushed, not because Jamie's a man, but because she's sure the wedding means the end of picnics and kites and swimming with Bobby. Then Bobby and Jamie bring her along: the ballet, sailing, marshmallows over the fire. Slowly Chloe sees she isn't losing an uncle at all. She's getting a second one, and the wedding turns out to be the best one ever.
The worry driving it is one every child knows, that someone you love won't have time for you anymore, and Bobby marrying a man is just the ordinary happy backdrop. That's what makes it easy: your child isn't asked to understand anything except Chloe's feelings, which are their feelings. The wedding, with its few funny hiccups, lands as pure celebration.
