A bouncy rhyming countdown that straps your child into a rocket, blasts off, and lets them walk on the moon before dinner.
A crew of cheerful animals climbs into a big red rocket, and the whole book is the trip: the countdown, the roar of blast-off, floating weightless inside, a spacewalk, a bounce across the moon, and the splashdown home. The rhymes are short and thumping, built to be chanted, and every page has a bright, friendly picture with the parts of the rocket labeled so a machine-mad child can point at the boosters and the fuel tanks.
It's the simplest possible way in for a child who loves rockets but is still too little for facts. The story is nothing but the ride they daydream about, so the thing they love gets fed with zero effort. The bumping rhythm makes it stick after a couple of reads, and the little labels on every machine give a keen child their first real space words to collect and show off.
