A little creature who's part bird and part bunny goes looking for a place where being both is just fine.
In the Land of This and That, everything is either a bird or a bunny. Then out of an egg comes a small creature who's a bit of both, and it doesn't fit the sorting. It isn't quite a bird and isn't quite a bunny, so it sets off on its own and finds a bright new place, the Land of All, where every kind of creature belongs. When two more misfits turn up at the gate, our little friend gets to be the one who says: come in.
It carries a real idea about belonging inside a candy-colored fable that a three-year-old can follow with no help. The words are few and the pictures do the talking, so it reads fast and sweet at bedtime. Because it's told with made-up creatures instead of a lesson, your child just feels for the little one who doesn't fit, and roots for it to find its people.
