A rhyming fairy tale where a maiden goes to a ball to meet the prince and falls for the princess instead.
A brave maiden with a suit of armor and a pet dragon is dreading the king and queen's ball, where everyone expects her to try to win the prince's hand. She slips outside for some air and meets a beautiful young woman on the balcony. They talk for hours, and the maiden realizes she's fallen not for the prince but for his sister, the princess. The king and queen find them together, and everyone agrees they're a perfect match. They dance, they marry, and they live happily ever after.
It's the companion to Prince & Knight, and it works the same way: a real fairy tale in rhyme, armor and dragons and a grand ball, with a love story at the center that just happens to be two women. Nobody explains it or worries over it. If your child loves the brave-girl-in-armor kind of story, this hands them one with a happy ending and no fuss.
