It's a leveled early reader built around the LEGO minifigures: big photos of a knight, an astronaut, a pirate, a diver, with one or two short sentences on each page telling you who they are and what they do. The words are the easy, repeated kind a four- to six-year-old is just learning to sound out, and when they get stuck, the picture is right there to help. For a child who loves LEGO but is only starting to read, it's a book about their favorite thing that they can actually get through themselves.
For a lot of small children, building LEGO and reading feel like two separate things, and this closes the gap. The sentences are short and repeat on purpose, so a child right at the start of reading can finish a whole book instead of stalling on the second page. It's easier to keep going when the book is about minifigures than when it's about nothing they care about. On this shelf it's the one aimed squarely at the four- to six-year-old, and the one written for them to read rather than browse.
