A little girl who's half vampire, half fairy, trying to work out which school she actually belongs at.
Isadora's mom is a fairy and her dad is a vampire, so Isadora is a bit of both — she has black wings and a pink tutu and a stuffed bunny named Pink Rabbit that her dad brought to life. When it's time to start school, both parents are sure she should go to theirs. Isadora tries fairy school, then vampire school, and neither one fits quite right, until she finds the school that's just for her.
Every page is illustrated in just black, white, and hot pink, so there's always a picture to land on when the words get tiring. The chapters are short and the story is one clear question a child can hold in their head: where do I fit? And it's the first of a long, long series, so a child who falls for Isadora has more than a dozen books waiting.
