By Laura Numeroff, Felicia Bond
The little mouse from 'If You Give a Mouse a Cookie' keeps finding colored eggs everywhere and can't figure out who's leaving them.
Mouse wakes up to find a colored egg by his door. Then another one behind a chair, and one under a plant, and one on top of a lamp — eggs keep turning up all over the house and he counts each one as he finds it, more and more puzzled about who could be hiding them. It's the Easter Bunny, of course, and when the two finally meet, Mouse gets to do a little egg-hiding of his own.
It's the safest, sunniest pick in the basket. Felicia Bond's mouse is a familiar friend from the cookie book, the colors are bright, and the whole thing is a gentle count-and-find with a happy ending and absolutely nothing to brace for. For a two- or three-year-old who just wants Easter to be eggs and bunnies and fun, this is exactly the one.
