Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library

By Chris Grabenstein

Twelve children win a sleepover in a dazzling new library, then discover the only way out is to solve the puzzles hidden inside it.

Kyle Keeley loves games, so a sleepover at the fantastical new town library built by his hero, eccentric game maker Luigi Lemoncello, is a dream come true. Holograms, floating balloons, secret passages, a whole hall of shelves that light up. But in the morning the doors won't open. To escape, Kyle and eleven other children have to work out a giant puzzle stitched together from rebus clues, library call numbers, and riddles hidden all over the building. Your child gets to try to crack each one right alongside them.

This is the friendliest possible door into a puzzle book. The stakes are pure fun, the chapters are short, and every riddle is one your child can try to beat the characters to. It reads like a video game and a game show had a book, which is exactly why children who swear they don't like reading tear straight through it. And there are sequels waiting the minute they finish.
