Wonder Woman, Batgirl and Supergirl all go to the same high school, and this week that school has finals.
Super Hero High is a school like any other, except the flying test is an actual flying test. Wonder Woman, Batgirl, Supergirl, Bumblebee, Katana, Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn are all cramming for finals at once. Then students start disappearing right before their exams, snatched away while they study, and the ones still standing have to work out who is taking them, get everybody back, save Metropolis, and still turn up for the test on Friday.
Your child probably knows these names already, from a lunchbox or a film or a cousin, and here they are being ordinary teenagers who worry about exams. That gap is the joke and it's the appeal: the most powerful girl in the world still can't get her homework in on time. It's bright, fast, and the panels are uncrowded, so a child who is still building confidence with comics can follow it without help. Seven heroes share the book, so there's someone for a child to pick as theirs, and there are several more of these waiting once this one lands.
